Celine and Alex | Rad Seattle Courthouse Wedding (with Ice Cream!)

From the moment Celine and Alex got in touch with me about photographing their small courthouse wedding I knew they were going to be a blast to work with. They rocked their courthouse wedding in downtown Seattle and suggested we stop for a celebratory ice cream at Pick-Quick Drive Inn afterward. My sweet tooth and I were all-in!

Rainy Seattle Maternity Family Photos at Olympic Sculpture Park

As much as I do love warm weather and getting my fair share of vitamin D from that big old ball in the sky, the truth is you can still have beautiful portraits if you choose to brave a little stormy weather, within reason, of course! Jessica's family opted to keep our date to hang out at the Olympic Sculpture Park on a slightly chilly day in April. The rain cleared up just in time for our family photo session and we were left with a breeze and weather that was a tad bit chilly. But on the plus side, it was great weather for getting those snuggly family photos I love so much!

Leilani and Ian | Seattle Courthouse Wedding

Leilani and Ian borrowed an accidental tradition from her parents' wedding anniversary: her mom and dad were married 7.8.78, and these two married at the courthouse on 1.8.18. A little extra numerology luck for an incredibly sweet couple.

A highlight of the night for me was the first dance at the Inn at the Market. While their guests headed to dinner, Leilani and Ian chose to share a quick first dance on the rooftop, with their son playing DJ. They had the rooftop terrace to themselves. It was magic.

Skyomish River Elopement

Amber and Lucas decided to tie the knot in one of their favorite places: near the Skyomish River in the small town of Baring, Washington, with only their siblings by their side. They rented a cabin overlooking the river. Played some frisbee before their ceremony, which was officiated by the groom's sister; ordered barbecue from one of their favorite spots, and had an impromptu dance party together in the living room to celebrate. It was a small gathering with lots of fun and big heart. A fave for sure. Congrats, loves!

Scholls Valley Lodge Wedding Photos

The countryside in Hillsboro, Oregon, where Natalie and Shayfer were married last month, surprised me in the best way. Much to my delight, this particular PNW setting makes for a drive-with-the-windows-down and watch-the-rolling-hills-pass-by kind of commute. Farm land. Hills of gold and green. Nice and hot in the summer. As if the setting of Scholls Valley Lodge didn't already make me feel as if I'd won the awesome wedding jackpot; this couple was also top-notch. They were THE NICEST. Their guests, gracious. Oh, and they're former choir nerds like me, so I couldn't help but feel an extra-nerdy connection to them. These are my people!

Ritter Farm Fall Wedding

The morning of Danielle and Sean's wedding at Ritter Farm, it poured sheets of rain during the drive out to Cle Elum. Rain like that might give us wedding photographers a bit of anxiety at times, but that day was different for me. The fall color along the drive through Snoqualmie Pass, and saturating the rural roads near the venue, popped like crazy against the gray skies. The yellows and reds only seemed deeper after a good rain. And to top it all off, there were lovely low clouds on the hillsides, not too far from the farm. Quiet. Fresh air. It's easy to feel like you don't have a care in the world in a place like that.
