U.S.S. Virginia V Lake Union Seattle Wedding

I’m on a Boat! Errr, well… I mean, I was on a boat, at least! Randa and Ross chartered the historic U.S.S. Virginia V steam ship for their wedding here in Seattle’s South Lake Union last summer, and invited me along to document their day. I knew Randa from my college days. We both studied Interior Design at Colorado State (feels like forever ago!) and obviously only one of us (Randa!) stayed the course with that profession. Randa is a seriously talented designer, and her design sense was expressed beautifully in all of the details of their nautical wedding. I also want to give a big shout out to Cheri from Eidle Wilde Floral for the stunning floral work aboard the ship.

Skyomish River Elopement

Amber and Lucas decided to tie the knot in one of their favorite places: near the Skyomish River in the small town of Baring, Washington, with only their siblings by their side. They rented a cabin overlooking the river. Played some frisbee before their ceremony, which was officiated by the groom's sister; ordered barbecue from one of their favorite spots, and had an impromptu dance party together in the living room to celebrate. It was a small gathering with lots of fun and big heart. A fave for sure. Congrats, loves!

Kitsap State Park Wedding (with Pizza!)

Evan and Lydia - are you kidding me with your cuteness? And kindness? And your most excellent taste in pizza? When I asked Lydia and Evan about their vision for the wedding, here's what they had to say:

"We want our wedding to be a fun party! We have tried to make it a total reflection of us as a couple: in the woods, woodfired pizza, ice cream sandwiches, etc. We're going for a very relaxed vibe with some traditional elements... mixed with a solid dose of good lighthearted fun! All I really want is for the love we have for each other and the joy we have for this special day to shine brightly and touch all those around us."

Whidbey Island Farm Wedding - Danial and Renee

Beloved Seattle chef, Renee Erickson, and her husband Danial Crookston planned a stunner of a celebration, with thoughtful details that felt true to who they are. Their ceremony site was draped in cheerful marigold garlands. Single blooms were tucked into strings tied around hay bales for ceremony seating. The dinner tent was outfitted with long, communal tables, ready with Renee's famous Boat Street Pickles, crispy bread, delicate china plates, and of course, rosé!
