Lakedale Resort Wedding
"I'll be looking for you, Will, every moment, every single moment. And when we do find each other again, we'll cling together so tight that nothing and no one'll ever tear us apart. Every atom of me and every atom of you... We'll live in birds and flowers and dragonflies and pine trees and in clouds and in those little specks of light you see floating in sunbeams... And when they use our atoms to make new lives, they won't just be able to take one, they'll have to take two, one of you and one of me, we'll be joined so tight..." — Philip Pullman
Megan and Alex chose one of the most beautiful venues for their September wedding: a lush and peaceful glamping resort tucked away in the middle of San Juan Island, about a ~3+ hour journey outside of Seattle by ferry. Though they live out of town for the time-being, the couple's Pacific Northwest roots are strong. They wanted to share their day amongst friends in one of (I think) the most heavenly locations in the world.
Things I'll remember most about their wedding include:
The couple's pups all dressed up for the big day (read: DOGGY TUXEDOS! OMG!) // Some of my favorite wedding flowers of all time by Bloom San Juan. // Megan's brother performing the tune he wrote especially for the wedding day, and his band entertaining guests during dinner. What's better than jazz standards being played live in a painfully gorgeous meadow? There's almost no faster way to my heart! // The bride walking down the aisle to an audio clip from the show, RadioLab (Press the PLAY button, below!) // Megan & Alex rowing away after their ceremony, enjoying a picnic snack and some quiet time before the celebration began. // And.... dragonflies. Dragonflies everywhere. Whizzing by, glistening iridescence; greeting us throughout the day. Even landing and resting on our shoulders, making the location even more magical than it was on its own.
