A Tented Backyard Wedding in SeaTac - Seattle Wedding Photographer
Hellooooo blog readers! I hope this post finds you all well. Are any of you out there planning a backyard wedding for 2014?
Backyard weddings can have their own special challenges, but they can also end up being really intimate, unique, and beautiful, just like Adrien & Andy's wedding that I'm going to share with you today. A&A's wedding, beautifully planned by the bride and groom with help from the super-awesome Katy at Vows Wedding & Event Planning, took place at the bride's childhood home, which is an adorable idea in itself, don't you think?
The bride designed the invitations --which were gorgeous!-- and had a big hand in creating many of her wedding's lovely garden-themed details. So creative. Stay tuned for some info from planner Katy at the end of this post. In the meantime, take a peek:
Even the food was well-thought out. So colorful and delicious! Cameron Catering did a beautiful job.
Are you considering a backyard wedding? I asked Katy at VOWS to chime in with some advice to those of you out there who are going for it. Here's what she had to say:
"Don’t let the simple sound of “backyard wedding” fool you. Depending on the guest count, these are some of the most complex weddings we plan. Key items to determine before you move forward:
- Parking: Is there enough street parking or will you need valet and/or have shuttles bus guests in from a pre-determined/rented lot?
- Bathrooms: For every 25-30 guests you need a bathroom and don’t kill your house plumbing especially if you’re on septic, get VIP porta potties instead.
- Power: Is there access to power in your backyard for the DJ/band, lighting, etc. without fear of blowing a circuit? Is a generator needed?
- Flat Ground: Do you have a large enough (for your guest count), flat space in your yard for erecting a tent and/or placing tables and chairs, so guests aren’t eating on a slant?
And I could go on and on. :)" Engaged peeps: If you are planning a backyard wedding, you can get a complimentary consultation and site inspection from the ladies at VOWS. They will help you make your wedding planning easy and fun! Thanks again to Katy for sharing her words of wisdom!
A special thanks to Chamonix for shooting with me that day!
