Styled Shoot: A Coastal Seabrook Wedding - Part One
A few months ago, I had the idea to do a styled shoot at one of my favorite locations in all of Washington state: Seabrook. If you haven't heard of it yet, let me give you the scoop. Seabrook is an adorable beach town located in Pacific Beach, Washington, somewhere around a 3-hour drive from Seattle. Years ago, shortly after I moved to Seattle, friends of mine from work rented a cabin there for the weekend and we've been visiting Seabrook whenever we get a chance, ever since. In order to fully describe Seabrook properly, I might have to pull out the thesaurus to locate more synonyms for "adorable." From its sweet little main street, community cruiser bikes, and charming-as-can-be architecture, entering the town feels like walking onto a movie set. Except, this is not a movie; it really exists. And it is truly delightful.
That's why, when I caught wind that Seabrook was adding a new Town Hall venue for weddings, I was pretty over the moon. I called them up on a whim and asked if we could shoot there. You never know if you don't ask! It turns out, the request was perfect timing, because they were looking to start spreading the word about the venue. It was a done deal - I just had to start assembling a team.
No sweat. I knew exactly who to call. Katie from Wonderstruck Event Design hit the ground running with her absolutely GORGEOUS concepts. Paula from Paisley Petals stepped up to do floral design like the rockstar she is, and Zerlinda at LaineeMeg Bridal trusted us with a couple of her shop's stunning gowns. Several other vendors provided the resources we needed, including the fabulous Abby from the Hot Buns Bakery, Becky from Vintage Ambiance, and the very calm & collected Ben from Magical Touch Media to capture some video of the whole thing. A true wedding vendor dream team, if I do say so myself.
So off we went. Our team took two days out of their busy August schedules to be a part of this shoot. The first day at Seabrook greeted us with super foggy weather, so the images from this day turned out to be a little more moody and dramatic, which I love. At times, it was tough to get those detail shots in the fog and rain, but I liked the challenge. I could shoot there for days.
So, without any more delay, I'd love to share some of these photos with you all. Below, you'll see images from our first day of shooting. Enjoy!
Katie outdid herself with designing this sparkly Seaside ceremony vignette. Love, love, love. Oh, and check out this glittery mermaid wedding dress, from Rent the Runway.
Our model, Katie C., rocked that sequined dress.
And that is just one day's worth of images. Stay tuned for part two!
