Amie & Colin: Sahale Retreat Center Wedding
Amie is a woman after my own heart. She is uber-organized and uber-creative. Any time I would ask her about a wedding detail, her general response would be something like, "yeah, I'm making that." From the homemade jam given out as wedding favors, to their adorable gift table setup, this wedding was a serious labor of love. Colin and Amie were married at the Sahale Retreat Center in Tahuya, Washington. Spread across acre after acre of gorgeous valleys, tall grasses, and mountains, this place is one of the best-kept wedding venue secrets in our beautiful state (if you ask me!) On a personal note, it was so hard to pull myself away at the end of the night due to the peace of the valley and the abundance of stars overhead. Sigh... I digress!
The couple were married by Amie's mom, an administrator at Sahale, in a very heartfelt and unique ceremony. Because trees hold a special symbolism to the couple, they chose to plant a tree on the property before being pronounced husband and wife. Of course this isn't an option for everyone at every venue, but isn't it a cool idea? Just another way to add meaning to and personalize your ceremony.
I'm going to hush now and let you see some photos from Amie & Colin's downright gorgeous, rustic wedding. Click here to view a slideshow of their wedding highlights.
Thanks to Mary Hayes for shooting with me! A few of her shots are featured here, as well.
