California Travel Photography: Taking the Scenic Route.
Pop quiz: A friend calls you from California and asks if you want to shoot a wedding with him in wine country. What do you say? To you, my friends, I simply say... Duh. Duh, you guys. Of course I went! I'll share some photos from the awesome wedding with you very soon, but in the meantime, here are some shots I took along my drive up the coast as well as some shots around the vineyards in Paso Robles.
Once I got my rental car at LAX, I only had to spend about 20 minutes on I-5 to know that I wouldn't be happy stuck in traffic. So I made a last-minute decision to take the scenic route, cutting down Santa Monica Blvd. and making a beeline for Highway 1 instead. If you're ever making a similar trek and have some extra time, I highly recommend this route. Crank the tunes, roll the windows down, and enjoy the drive:
Several hours later, I arrived at Paso Robles in the dark, so you can imagine my surprise when I awoke to see this area as my destination (insert happy dance here).
During my short visit, John and I managed to squeeze in a trip to the gorgeous San Miguel Mission. Gotta love those desert colors:
Have a great weekend!
